PRE EVENT
Make waste your business

Waste costs money, and waste reduction in the workplace depends on the participation and support of employees, managers, and customers. By getting informed about how to reduce waste in your business and get your staff or colleagues on board, you could be looking at a more profitable set up.

The Ministry for Sustainable Development the Environment and Climate Change is organising a business breakfast on how to reduce waste in business as part of the European Week for Waste Reduction at the end of this month. This event will take place on Friday 24th November at the Golden Tulip Vivaldi Hotel in St Julians. Aimed at local businesses, the general theme behind this event is “Make it your Business not to Waste”. A number of keynote speakers in waste management, among them waste expert Mario Schembri from AIS and Wasteserv CEO Tonio Montebello, will be talking about how waste efficient is not just an environmental initiative but also makes good commercial sense.

The European Week for Waste Reduction is a global initiative aimed at promoting the implementation of awareness-raising actions about sustainable resource and waste management during a single week. It encourages a wide range of audiences and stakeholders, including public authorities, private companies, civil society as well as citizens themselves to get involved and come up with more and more ways to reduce waste.
