Sort your waste

Green / Grey Bag

Tip: Avoid smells by only placing clean items inside.

Glass

Glass is collected once a month from your doorstep, in most localities, or can be taken to Bring-In or Civic Amenity Sites at any time.

Black Bag

Tip: Keep all recyclables out of the black bag – rinse and recycle.

White Bag

So far only in Birkirkara, Bormla, Għaxaq, Mdina, Kirkop, Marsaxlokk, Mġarr, Swieqi Ta’ Xbiex and Gozo.

Civic Amenity Site

Items such as medicines, batteries, light bulbs, electronics, polystyrene (in bulk), unemptied aerosal spray cans, paint, glue and mercury thermometers.

Bulky Refuse Services

A free service for collecting bulky refuse from your doorstep is available in most localities, or else you can take bulky items to a Civic Amenity Site.

Bring-In Sites

Another alternative is to separate waste into the four categories: Plastic, Paper, Glass and Metal, at Bring-In Sites situated in all localities around Malta and Gozo.
